EcoBizz is a campaign by The Bhamla Foundation that brings together the business community and policymakers to collaborate on achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This initiative focuses on creating actionable plans that align with the mission of our foundation, addressing both environmental and societal needs.
In EcoBizz, businesses from various sectors—including builders, hoteliers, restaurateurs, educators, and healthcare professionals—work directly with The Bhamla Foundation to develop tailored strategies that promote sustainability and social responsibility. Each year, these stakeholders create a comprehensive plan that outlines their commitments and initiatives. The campaign emphasizes the importance of accountability and continuous improvement, as businesses strive to implement their plans and measure their impact over time. By fostering collaboration between the private sector and policymakers, EcoBizz aims to drive meaningful change for the environment and society as a whole.
At The Bhamla Foundation, we believe that effective waste management is essential for a cleaner and healthier environment. Our Waste Management Plant is a vital part of this mission, focusing on the collection and segregation of waste, particularly from our beach cleanups.
Here’s how our plan operates:
By focusing on waste collection, segregation, community support, and education, we aim to make a significant impact on our environment and the lives of those we serve. Together, we can create a cleaner, greener future for all!
At The Bhamla Foundation, we’re proud to have completed over 550 weeks of beach cleanups. Our journey started with a passion for keeping Bandra’s Carter Road clean, but we quickly realized that pollution is a problem everywhere in India.
We’ve cleaned beaches in Goa in partnership with IFFI and spent ten days cleaning Dal Lake in Kashmir. We also organized cleanups in the deserts of Dubai! In Mumbai, we regularly clean at Carter Road, the Mithi River, and Versova Beach. Our volunteers come from all over the country—from Punjab to Chhattisgarh, Delhi to Rajasthan—and we work together on many city-related projects.
We also invite actors, singers, and politicians to join our cleanups. Their presence sends a powerful message, as they are role models to millions. When they speak out or share our cause digitally, it gets more attention, and change begins with awareness.
When people come to clean the beach, they realize that we are part of the problem. Our actions impact our country, our planet, our soil, our children’s health, and, most importantly, our marine life.
Our main goal is to remove single-use plastics and microplastics from our beaches. We involve students from schools and colleges, as well as rag pickers and corporate teams, to help with our cleanups. This work isn’t just a one-time event; it’s a continuous effort to keep our environment clean.
We always welcome volunteers to join us in this important mission. Together, we can make a real difference and keep our city—and our beaches—clean. Join us today!
The Bhamla Foundation started with a clear mission: tree plantations. In our early days, we were eager to make a difference, often organizing sapling planting activities to help improve our environment.
As we learned more about environmental sustainability, especially regarding trees and soil, we understood the importance of planting the right trees. We focused on those that can reduce air pollution and improve the city’s air quality while also attracting biodiversity, like butterflies, insects, and squirrels.
Knowing that planting trees alone wasn’t enough, we began creating urban forests in the city. With limited green spaces, we adopted the Japanese Miyawaki technique to develop small, dense forests.

Miyawaki forests are a unique approach to urban greening, designed by Japanese botanist Akira Miyawaki. This method focuses on planting native tree and plant species in a dense manner, allowing them to grow quickly and create a balanced ecosystem.

Many of our projects are located on school grounds, allowing young people to be involved in the entire process—from planting to caring for the trees. To make these activities even more special, we invite celebrities and politicians to join us. Their participation brings excitement and helps us to reach out to the youth of the world.
Through these efforts, The Bhamla Foundation aims not only to plant trees but also to build a sense of community, awareness, and responsibility for our planet. Join us in our mission to create greener, healthier urban spaces for future generations
