At The Bhamla Foundation, we’re proud to have completed over 550 weeks of beach cleanups. Our journey started with a passion for keeping Bandra’s Carter Road clean, but we quickly realized that pollution is a problem everywhere in India.
We’ve cleaned beaches in Goa in partnership with IFFI and spent ten days cleaning Dal Lake in Kashmir. We also organized cleanups in the deserts of Dubai! In Mumbai, we regularly clean at Carter Road, the Mithi River, and Versova Beach. Our volunteers come from all over the country—from Punjab to Chhattisgarh, Delhi to Rajasthan—and we work together on many city-related projects.
We also invite actors, singers, and politicians to join our cleanups. Their presence sends a powerful message, as they are role models to millions. When they speak out or share our cause digitally, it gets more attention, and change begins with awareness.
When people come to clean the beach, they realize that we are part of the problem. Our actions impact our country, our planet, our soil, our children’s health, and, most importantly, our marine life.
Our main goal is to remove single-use plastics and microplastics from our beaches. We involve students from schools and colleges, as well as rag pickers and corporate teams, to help with our cleanups. This work isn’t just a one-time event; it’s a continuous effort to keep our environment clean.
We always welcome volunteers to join us in this important mission. Together, we can make a real difference and keep our city—and our beaches—clean. Join us today!
