The TB Harenga Desh Jeetenga Health Campaign is a significant initiative launched by The Bhamla Foundation in collaboration with the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM) and the legendary Mr. Amitabh Bachchan. This campaign aims to combat tuberculosis (TB) by raising awareness, providing education, and promoting preventive measures across communities.

By partnering with MCGM and leveraging community resources, the TB Harenga Desh Jeetenga Health Campaign strives to create a TB-free future for India. Through our collective efforts, we aim to empower individuals, reduce the incidence of TB, and ultimately save lives.

Our foundation has made significant strides in healthcare, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. We were recognized by the World Health Organization for our work in Dharavi, one of the most challenging areas in the country.

For 500 days, we educated citizens about safety and the importance of staying home. Many families lived in one-room houses, making precautions difficult. To support the community, we distributed essential items like:

  • Food grains
  • Milk
  • Oil
  • Sugar
  • Wheat
  • Masks
  • Sanitizers
  • PPE kits

We also focused on the neglected transgender community, ensuring they received the resources they needed.

One of our most significant achievements was administering 10 lakh free COVID-19 vaccines, ensuring that vulnerable communities had access to this essential healthcare service.

Cyclothon is an exciting initiative by The Bhamla Foundation aimed at promoting sustainable transportation and raising awareness about environmental issues. This event brings together cycling enthusiasts, families, and community members to enjoy a day of fun while advocating for a cleaner, greener planet.

EcoBizz is a campaign by The Bhamla Foundation that brings together the business community and policymakers to collaborate on achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This initiative focuses on creating actionable plans that align with the mission of our foundation, addressing both environmental and societal needs.

In EcoBizz, businesses from various sectors—including builders, hoteliers, restaurateurs, educators, and healthcare professionals—work directly with The Bhamla Foundation to develop tailored strategies that promote sustainability and social responsibility. Each year, these stakeholders create a comprehensive plan that outlines their commitments and initiatives. The campaign emphasizes the importance of accountability and continuous improvement, as businesses strive to implement their plans and measure their impact over time. By fostering collaboration between the private sector and policymakers, EcoBizz aims to drive meaningful change for the environment and society as a whole.

At The Bhamla Foundation, we believe that effective waste management is essential for a cleaner and healthier environment. Our Waste Management Plant is a vital part of this mission, focusing on the collection and segregation of waste, particularly from our beach cleanups.
Here’s how our plan operates:

  • Collection and Segregation:
We collect waste from our beach cleanups and other community sources, ensuring it is properly sorted into categories such as organic, plastic, metal, and more. This careful segregation is crucial for effective waste management and helps facilitate recycling processes.
  • Support for Rag Pickers:
We employ rag pickers, providing them with a stable livelihood while acknowledging their important role in waste management. By integrating them into our operations, we help uplift their communities and promote sustainable practices.
  • Education for Their Children:
We believe in creating a brighter future for the next generation. As part of our commitment, we have established a school for the children of our rag pickers, ensuring they have access to education and opportunities for growth.
  • Community Engagement:
We actively involve the community in our waste management efforts. Through workshops and awareness campaigns, we educate people about the importance of waste segregation and responsible disposal, fostering a culture of sustainability.

By focusing on waste collection, segregation, community support, and education, we aim to make a significant impact on our environment and the lives of those we serve. Together, we can create a cleaner, greener future for all!

At The Bhamla Foundation, we’re proud to have completed over 550 weeks of beach cleanups. Our journey started with a passion for keeping Bandra’s Carter Road clean, but we quickly realized that pollution is a problem everywhere in India.

We’ve cleaned beaches in Goa in partnership with IFFI and spent ten days cleaning Dal Lake in Kashmir. We also organized cleanups in the deserts of Dubai! In Mumbai, we regularly clean at Carter Road, the Mithi River, and Versova Beach. Our volunteers come from all over the country—from Punjab to Chhattisgarh, Delhi to Rajasthan—and we work together on many city-related projects.

We also invite actors, singers, and politicians to join our cleanups. Their presence sends a powerful message, as they are role models to millions. When they speak out or share our cause digitally, it gets more attention, and change begins with awareness.
When people come to clean the beach, they realize that we are part of the problem. Our actions impact our country, our planet, our soil, our children’s health, and, most importantly, our marine life.

Our main goal is to remove single-use plastics and microplastics from our beaches. We involve students from schools and colleges, as well as rag pickers and corporate teams, to help with our cleanups. This work isn’t just a one-time event; it’s a continuous effort to keep our environment clean.

We always welcome volunteers to join us in this important mission. Together, we can make a real difference and keep our city—and our beaches—clean. Join us today!
